Welcome Aboard
Brent Bromley, Brett Konkin and Devin Reinhardt are
the new members of CARM’s board of directors
The Construction Association of Rural Manitoba
(CARM) welcomed three new members to its board of
directors in March. The newest members took the helm
during the COVID-19 pandemic and will serve two-year
terms as directors-at-large. The new members took time out of their
busy schedules to answer some serious – and some fun – rapid-fire
questions about their backgrounds and what they hope to contribute
to CARM.
Meet Brent Bromley
Q: What’s your background in construction?
A: I took my pre-employment for carpentry at Assiniboine
Community College in 2000, and started my work experience with
Ben Wiebe Construction.
I joined Westman Premier Homes in 2012 as a foreman. The
company has grown and is now known as Premier Builder Group.
Because I had enough work hours, I challenged my Red Seal in
Carpentry and received it in 2013. This added credential and
my hard work contributed to my becoming a partner of Premier
Builder Group in 2015.
I have been working as the general manager of the Premier
Commercial Builders division for three years now and I manage
small- to medium-sized commercial projects such as tenant fit ups,
new construction and restaurant projects. We recently merged with
Keller Developments and I now do all the estimating across all
three companies.
From working with PCL on the Brandon Hospital atrium project
to steel fabrication with Tatra Ornamental Iron and many small
residential projects when I co-owned BreSco Carpentry with my
brother Scott Bromley, I have a broad range of experiences that
help me understand all facets of the industry.
Q: When and why you did you join CARM?
A: I joined CARM in 2016 because I felt it was the best way to connect
with the community and I was interested in the great courses
the organization offered.
Q: Why did you want to serve on the board of directors?
A: I wanted to have a chance to collaborate with the members
of CARM. I felt that CARM had done a lot for our companies
and wanted to have an opportunity to give back and help out
where I could.
Q: What are you looking forward to as a
member of CARM’s board of directors?
A: I look forward to networking with the rest of the board and all of
the CARM members.
Q: What are your future plans and hopes for CARM?
A: I hope that CARM can continue to grow now with the implementation
of PlanPoint. I also hope to be able to promote the
education that CARM offers because the courses I have taken there
have been amazing.
