Does this sound familiar?
Johnny works away from home, has pain somewhere
and brushes it off because he doesn’t have access to inperson
care. This issue is starting to affect Johnny’s mood,
sleep and demeanour.
He continues to brush it off when returning from camp because
he wants to spend the short time off with friends and family.
Johnny and many like him are not alone, and the CT
Physiotherapy team has made a solution to get the needed care, no
matter where.
Based in Ashern, Man., on Highway 6, CT Physiotherapy identified
a massive gap in services for people up north. The closest
physiotherapy clinic north on Highway 6 is in Thompson. That is
over 600 kilometres!
Think of all of the communities and workers who have to take a
day off work to get care, wait a month for someone to fly-in or driveup
to provide treatment or – what is most commonly seen – deal
with it and suck it up.
Rural and remote communities are at a higher risk of chronic
pain, obesity, depression and anxiety, and have significantly less
resources to help with pain and injuries.
CT Physiotherapy believes that everyone deserves access to
physiotherapy to improve the quality of their lives and it is the
company's goal to break down barriers and get care to the people
who need it.
The solution? Digital Physiotherapy by CT Physiotherapy.
Digital Physiotherapy can be received anywhere: a living room,
an office, anywhere with an internet connection and a device with
a camera.
Think of it like a FaceTime appointment. The patient clicks a
link from their email and are taken to a registered physiotherapist
in real time. No need to download software or a confusing app. It
can’t get more seamless.
The physiotherapist will assess, treat and give the needed tools
to get better. CT Physiotherapy has had success with people experiencing
sciatic pain, rotator cuff issues, neck pain, knee surgery
recovery, workplace injuries and motor vehicle accidents to name
a few.
Internet connection is rarely an issue as Digital Physiotherpy
has patients in Oxford House, God’s Lake Narrows, Flin Flon, and
all over the Manitoba Interlake.
Who does Digital Physiotherapy work with? RCMP, construction
guys and gals working at camp, long-haul truck drivers living
far from home or services, and people who can’t make the drive
to Ashern.
The team aims to over-deliver and provide the best experience
possible. Direct billing to most insurance companies is available
and the majority of paperwork is done online. Education through
screen sharing of videos gives a crystal clear understanding of what
is happening to the body. n
